Taylor Maid sold gourmet foods out of their family gas station. It was the place to fill up at lunch, chat with friends, and read a paper. Owner Billy Taylor packaged her marinade, took it to Gourmet Foods Show in NY, and among thousands of products, got a mention in the trades. It was most likely because the product was really tasty, but I like to think that the package design and brochure helped.
