Non-Profit MS Arts Commission
Many years ago, the Mississippi Arts Commission approached us, needing promotional materials for an awards ceremony that would celebrate excellence in the arts. As we talked it became clear to us that this could reach much further than simply arts recognition. We saw that it could become a way to educate legislators about the role the arts play in our community. And to secure their funding for the Arts Commission. This long-running series of posters and invitations initially focused on the art surrounding the congressmen every day…the architecture of the old and new capitol buildings in downtown Jackson. It has expanded to highlight many facilities funded by the Commission such as the fabulous MSU Riley Center in Meridian. The posters were designed to be collectables, and as planned, many hang in the offices of our congressmen.
